In case you were wondering I still have no idea of how I will be spending Mother’s Day but I can say that this has been a great week. First I got to spend time with my Prego Bestie and then I was pampered like a princess.
If you follow me on Snapchat (snap: justabxmom) you know that I was blessed to attend a Pre-Mother’s Day Pampering Session at Caravan Stylist Studio. OMgosh, it was amazing. The space is absolutely GORGEOUS. I cannot decide if my favorite part of the studio was the entry way with the motivational mirrors or the KahriAnne Kerr dolls of different hanging on the wall.
Walking into Caravan and I was ushered into a mini massage courtesy of Yu of Oasis Day Spa. Her hands were like magic. I sit at my desk at least 8 – 10 hours a day. I do not have the best posture and at least half of that time I have a three foot, three year old hanging off of me. Suffice to say the massage felt like HEAVEN. I really didn’t want to get out of her chair but I was excited to see what the rest of the day would bring.
After wanting to take Yu home with me I said goodbye and ventured to get my makeup did! Yup, me and makeup, you read right. I know, I know. You have never heard me talk about makeup. That’s because in my world makeup usually translates to lip gloss. The last time I had my makeup done was probably for Prego Bestie’s wedding years ago. Hazel was my makeup artist for the day. She was not only very talented but also patient. Yes, even in the middle of being pampered if my phone rang I had to answer it and she never complained. Such a sweetie I love the natural look she gave me.
Next, I was ready for Valerie to do my hair. I love Valerie. She had me when she said East Williamsburg will always be Bushwick! She was so much fun and brought my hair to life. I also took notes. From now on I will use clarifying shampoos and I promise to cut a few inches off.
But wait there’s more! After being beautified I was ready for my closeup! Yes, can you believe that each of us pampered mamas received a photo shoot? Brandi Nicole is not only a talented photographer but she is kind, funny and so super sweet. I loved how willing to give direction she was during the shoot. Not only did she give directions clearly but she also explained why she was asking for certain poses. She was also a master at making mamas comfortable in front of the camera.
Did I mention the gift bag? Each of us mamas got a loot filled Vera Bradley bag and a beautiful potted petunia. I feel like the Mother’s Day fairy heard my cries. My only regret for the day was not having anywhere to go after I finished. The ladies did such a fabulous job of dolling me up and all I did was get on the train to go home. Either way I owe such a big thank you to the ladies of Caravan for reminding this mama that I can clean up pretty good and that I too deserve to feel like a movie star at times. Anyone want an autograph???
