JustaBXgirl is one of the most princessy princesses you will ever meet. She is also a three year old who loves to run EVERYWHERE, climb EVERYTHING and jump like she’s part froggy. Buying shoes for her is always a challenge. She will live in tutus and gowns if possible and usually does. I’m big on letting her express herself through her clothes. She picks out her wardrobe pretty much daily and I go with the flow as long as it is weather appropriate. Some days we compromise and she wears a gown over a sweater and corduroys.
Footwear on the other hand is always a battle. Yup, I admit I even lose at times. She would love to wear princess shoes to complete her princess look but that just wouldn’t work. She doesn’t yet get that she can’t wear dress shoes to run, jump and slide at the playground.
When I got invited to the Keen Kids event at Gallow Green I just knew that I would love the shoes but I wasn’t sold that JustaBXgirl would. I knew from their reputation that Keen shoes were very durable and perfect for outdoor activities. What I didn’t know was how stylish they were.
The event itself was amazing. The weather was perfect for an afternoon on a rooftop in Manhattan. As soon as I exited the elevator I was greeted by the nicest servers with yummy beverages. The space was perfect complete with pop up tee-pees. The shoes were presented in welcoming ways and all of the staff was so friendly and informed.
I know, I know, you weren’t there so you don’t care what I drank or ate. I have to tell you about the yummy, delicious, perfectly made s’mores though. If you follow me on Snapchat you saw mine being created with sprinkles on top. I wasn’t greedy I only tried one type.
Okay, okay. Back to the shoes. There were so many that I loved I can’t really choose a favorite! And even better there were so many that JustaBXgirl will love as well.
The Uneek line is perfect for spring and summer. These will be my new go to shoe. I wore them to a meeting this week and received compliments and inquiries about them all day. They are part sandal, part sneaker and all style. They kind of remind me of a fun moccasin. JustaBXgirl loves them too. We might now avoid many morning wars over footwear because these are fancy enough to make her happy while being durable enough for me to feel safe with her wearing to the playground.
Don’t worry, Keen has more than just summer covered. They’re Encanto line is perfect for Back to School. JustaBXgirl isn’t even in school and I’m already planning on which of these to get her when they are released! I think my nephews and godson will all look stunningly rugged and stylish in the Encanto Wesley High Tops while JustaBXgirl and my younger niece will love the Splitter Splatter Encanto Scout High Tops. And I think my older niece is going to want the Encanto Madison Boot. I know those are the ones I want!
Keen even has us covered for winter. I’m already coveting the Ink Blue/Very Berry Elsa Boots.
The Uneek line is available now. The Encanto line will be out June 1st and the Elsa boots will be available August 1st.
