Once upon a time, I had the cool gadgets when they first came out.  Then I became a mom.  As JustaBXgirl is getting older she is starting to get into gadgets which means I can start loving the latest techy stuff again.  And have you noticed how much more tech stuff is around for little today than when we were growing up?  I mean, I’m from the error when LiteBrite was considered top tech!  It was really difficult to narrow down what to include in this category.  I decided to focus on a few you may not have seen.  Let me know what your favorite tech toy is this season in the comments.

kurio snap, kd interactive

Kurio Snap – I don’t know about your little but mine LOVES the Boomerang app. If it was up to her every photo would have the effect.  And guess what, now it is up to her when she’s using the Snap.  Yup, this device comes with a boomerang effect.  This is the perfect gift for those littles that are all about the SELFIES and filters.  Just mine?  Yea, okay.  Playing YouTube is big among the elementary school scene and this allows them to play it safely.

lightseekers, tomy

Lightseekers Awakening Starter Pack– This is a cute way to bring AR into your little one’s world.  I like that the figures can be used in and out of the game.  Many times if something is a connected play toy you can not use it any other way.  These figures are made durable and can be played with in or out of the game.

piper computer kit

Piper Computer Kit– Building a computer?  Yup!  It is now possible.  Computers are such a huge part of many of our daily existences why not learn more about how these fascinating machines work.  While a young person has the ability to build this alone I think this makes a wonderful family project. It comes with a blueprint that is very easy to read and follow. Once you get the computer built you will follow Minecraft style instructions in a series of games to bring your computer more to life.

evo, ozobot

Ozobot Evo– If you saw my IG stories about the Evo then you saw the coolness in action.  I was very excited to get my hands on this one and I’m even willing to share it a little bit with JustaBXgirl.  Of course, she just thinks it is the cutest little thing.  They are quickly on the road to becoming buddies.  I also love how simple the coding is.

get qurious

Get Qurious– JustaBXgirl loves these types of AR games.  This mama loves games that get her working on science, math and, reading while still being entertained. It is really kind of awesome to see your spaceship come to life by scanning it into the app.  And forget about how beyond cool it is to become part of a story that you have helped build.  This is screen time done right.

pixlplay

pixlplay– By nature children love to pretend to take photos.  Remember when you were a child?  I bet you used to use the family camera, a viewfinder or your hands to pretend to capture everyday moments.  Today, phone cameras make it very easy to capture those moments and our littles see that.  With the cost of a smartphone nearing some people’s rents chances are you don’t really like handing over your phone.  With this device, your phone is safe and secure.  Or you can use an old phone that is no longer connected.

drone force, alpha, stinger

Drone Force Stinger – My nephew has wanted a drone FOREVER.  I really like this as a starter drone for him.  It is fun and durable.  It is listed as an indoor drone but can go up to 50 feet. I believe this is a great first drone to get a little used to the basic control before getting all fancy.
