Fabulous FairyTale Fifth

Fabulous FairyTale Fifth

birthday party, fairytale theme, bronx parties, kewl kidz paint
As an Oriental Trading Ambassador, I received products to use in my decor. as always all opinions are honest and solely mine.

JustaBXgirl turned five last month.  And it seemed we were celebrating the whole month! We went to Florida, we had cake with Abuela, cupcakes with her class and to culminate the festivities a fancy, schmancy Fabulous FairyTale Fifth Fiesta. I feel like I will be sharing about her birthday until next January because honestly, I was so in my emotions with her turning five that I don’t know how I got through everything.  I wanted to share in the moment with all of you and I did a little on Instagram but for the most part, I couldn’t find the words to put it all here.

Now that we are a little past and moving onto our February fun I can look back and share a bit more clearly.  JustaBXgirl decided on the theme to her party last June after attending Baby Panda and her godsister’s unicorn birthday parties.  The name came later.  Branding is very important to our family! She also decided that she didn’t just want a party, she wanted a sip juice and paint party.

I knew it was going to be a magical experience when I met Stephanie from Hello Princess NYC. She opened the doors to her gorgeous Princess party studio to us and allowed me to create the Queendom of JustaBXgirl’s dreams.  Since the venue was absolutely aligned with our theme I didn’t have to worry much about how to transport our guests to a whimsical fairytale because they would feel that just walking through the doors.

Thanks to our friends at Oriental Trading we were able to add the perfect accents and activities to our fairytale.   If you’ve ever been around littles you know that for the most part, they have short attention spans.  Our main event was the painting lead by Kewl Kidz Paint, the mobile children’s paint party company I work with.  Yet, even though the painting would take a bulk of the time we wanted to have other activities available for the guests.

We decided to keep it creative.  There was an arts & crafts station set up where guests were able to design their own wand/scepter, crown, and sword. They had markers and stickers at their disposal.  Let me tell you that JustaBXgirl had her hand in every single part of the party planning.  I had chosen these really cute treat boxes and she decided how they would be used.  They became place settings for her guests.  She also places a treat inside each box.  She decided where everyone would sit for the painting and even selected what they would be painting.

And then, of course, there was cake and dancing.  Now, let me tell you, I LOVE looking at all of the beautiful cakes on Instagram and Pinterest.  I really, really do.  I just can’t get it in my head to spend a gazillion dollars on a cake to basically take photos of it because half of the cake usually goes to waste.  Instead, I head to the local supermarket and pick up a sheet cake.  To jazz it up a bit I added some unicorn trinkets we found at Oriental Trading and Target.  Some of the guests had two pieces and we still had half a cake left!  I didn’t mind so much since the cake only cost me $25.  Now had it been $250 I might have cried!

Overall, it was a magical day and I cannot wait to get the photos back from our photographer. That’s not to say that there weren’t many moments of stress.  I mean, many! Yet, all of that was forgotten once I saw JustaBXgirl glowing as she was surrounded by love and laughter.
