#SummerFun: Just Keep Swimming

We received TYR products for review purposes. As always all opinions are honest and solely mine.

I know I’ve been spending a lot of time writing about Back to School lately but that doesn’t mean that I’m ready to let go of summer yet!  I’m just really excited about my little going to school for the first time.  With three weeks to go before she’s an official student we are trying to enjoy every moment we can.  This summer seems to have flown.  In the midst of someone pressing fast forward we have had the opportunity to make memories and spend time with family.  And with three weeks left we will do our best to make even more summer memories.

If you follow me on social media that you know that JustaBXgirl thinks she’s a mermaid.  If there is water somewhere she must be in it.  We were blessed this summer to spend time traveling and splashing around in various pools.   The location and size of the pools might have changed but one thing that didn’t change was our practicing pool safety.  I don’t swim.  JustaBXgirl has taken swim classes on and off since she was around a year and a half but still can only tread water slightly.  If you listen to her tell it though she will give Michael Phelps a run for his money.

Usually I have to coerce her to wear a safety vest.  She ends up sounding like Goldilocks.  They’re too tight, don’t let her arms move enough or some other random complaint that leads us to fussing with each other.  This summer I heard no such griping.  She’s been using her Coast Guard approved TYR Start To Swim flotation shirt since June and hasn’t complained about it once.  She’s even allowed her face to be in the water (one of her biggest issues) while wearing her TYR goggles this summer.

I think that she’s getting older and she’s realizing the value of these items.  They’re not just something that mommy makes her wear.  I’ve let her go in the pool a few times (always under direct adult supervision) without her flotation shirt and she has seen that she, well, can’t float!  She knows now that part of the reason she has confidence in the water is because she has confidence in the tools at her disposal.  Slow and steady wins the race.  I cannot wait until she is a strong swimmer.  But until then we will both trust TYR to help JustaBXgirl to just keep swimming.

Even her bathingsuit is TYR!
