We received this title for free. As always all opinions are honest and solely my own.

Too often we forget that girls like and play sports. That’s why I was really excited to hear about the upcoming movie, Alex & Me starring World Champion Soccer Star, Alex Morgan and Siena Agudong (Star Falls, Disney Channel). Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released Alex & Me on Digital, today, June 12th, and will release the Blu-ray/DVD on Tuesday, June 19th. It was a chance for girls to be reminded that it is okay to get dirty. It is okay to run. It is okay to sweat! And having Alex Morgan is a great reminder that girls can win Olympic Medals too!

This is a really sweet and funny film that you and your family are going to enjoy.  Here’s the synopsis on what to expect:

Teenager Reagan Willis (Agudong) has one dream – to play soccer like her hero, Alex Morgan. Her bedroom is a shrine to all things Alex, including a life-size poster of the Olympic gold medalist. Yet in the Willis house, Reagan lives in the shadow of her prep football superstar brother, Logan. When Reagan fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team and is humiliated by her rival Claire, she’s certain her ship has sailed. But after accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life and everything changes!

Can you imagine your hero becomes your mentor? Well, that’s basically what happens. Be prepared for laughs watching the film. I was recently blessed with the opportunity to speak with the young star of the film, Siena Agudong. She is such a beautiful spirit and so very humble. Her parents are doing an amazing job raising her.

Interview:

You have quite the resume. You started on the stage, have done television and are now getting into film. What’s your favorite to work?

I really enjoy TV and movies.

You’ve been acting a long time. When did you know it was something you wanted to do?

My sister started doing plays when she was around six. We always did a lot of skits with our family so I’ve always been into acting. I started in plays.

Spoiler: Your character doesn’t make the team when she first tries out. How were you able to relate to the character during this scene?

Like Alex, I’m always determined to keep going. We both know we have to work hard. And that we’re blessed to have opportunities.

What advice would you give to Alex and other girls about not succeeding at something the first time?

Don’t let it affect you too much. You have to keep moving forward and working hard because hard work pays off.

Speaking of hard work. You are working very hard. Let’s do one final question about work then move onto some other questions. What would your dream role be?

Something big action with lots of special effects, like an Avatar or Star Wars or Avengers.

Outside of acting, you are athletic. How long have you played soccer?

For years, but I learned more in the few weeks on the movie and I love it even more now.

School’s out for summer. What are the top three things on your Summer Bucket List?

Fishing with dad, going to the beach and playing soccer!

What is your favorite book?

Right now it would be a book of poetry called Milk & Honey that my sister got me into.

If you could have dinner with anyone who would it be?

Selena Gomez. She is so inspiring. I love seeing her grow and she seems so honest and humble.

What is the best advice that you’ve been given?

There are a few good ones. God has a plan. Trust the process. Surround yourself with good people and believe in yourself.

Speaking of advice, what advice would you have for moms (or any adults) on how they can support the young people in their lives when they are athletes or performers?

I’m blessed with an amazing mom. She is always there for me. She always supports me and reminds me to stay humble. I think that is good advice.
