Will Your Little Draw The Next Google Doodle?

Will Your Little Draw The Next Google Doodle?

Something you might not know about me is that I’m obsessed with Google. Don’t take my word for it? JustaBXgirl is kind of obsessed before me. The moment one of us has a question we run to Google. At home, we have two Google Home devices so we often just ask our questions aloud. Google Doodles? I love the interactive ones the most but have learned so many random facts because of them.

Google kicks off the 11th year of their Doodle 4 Google art competition, where students across the U.S. compete to take over the Google homepage for a day with their artwork. I know my little artist would love to find her picture transformed into a Google Doodle. This year the theme is “When I grow up, I hope…” I LOVE THIS THEME!!! Littles are so unpredictable. Can you think of all of the different things they will come up with?

I know that Google can’t wait to see what students dream up, whether it’s a fantastic wish or a practical plan. The contest is open to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Doodle 4 Google submissions are open until March 18th, that means our littles only have 10 weeks! The winning artist will see their work on the Google homepage for a day, win a $30,000 college scholarship, and a $50,000 technology grant for his or her school. For more details, head to doodle4google.com, where you’ll find full contest rules and entry forms.

Since they know they’re bound to get some really fantabulous submissions Google decided to bring in some friends to help judge. The guest judges this year are Mandy Manning, the 2018 National Teacher of the Year, Jimmy Fallon, host of “The Tonight Show”, and Kermit the Frog! Kermit will be stopping by “The Tonight Show” next week to say “hi” and celebrate the contest opening for submissions.

On Tuesday, January 8th last year’s 2018 winner, Sarah Gomez-Lane’s artwork was featured on the Google homepage. She is the first Doodle for Google National Winner to have her artwork transformed into an interactive doodle.

Thanks, Google for sending over the info!
