February Watch List

February Watch List

We received some of these titles for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own.

Baby, it’s cold outside. As I begin drafting this post it is snowing and I do not want to leave the house anytime soon. Since I can’t hibernate until Spring, I am planning to snuggle up with JustaBXgirl on the sofa and watch movie after movie and a few shows. These are all family-friendly because I will admit that many times JustaBXgirl outlasts me on movie night. For those that make it all the way to the end, there’s a treat waiting for you!

Lena and Snowball – This is a really good movie that opens the doors for real life conversations. Granted, most littles won’t find a lion cub to take care of and keep safe, many littles will however deal with bullying and other issues faced by Lena in the movie. The movie had a great pace and Snowball is so fluffy and lovable. I would love to see a short film about the friendship between Snowball and Smitty, Lena’s dog.

The Croods: A New Age – I know, you’re over me talking about The Croods: New Age. I just find this movie adorable. “The best part to me is when they come over the wall the look on there face it was like what is that 🤯🤯🤯” says JustaBXgirl. If you’re ready to become as obsessed as we are you can own it now digitally and on DVD/Blu-Ray on February 23rd. And you can enter below to win a digital code!

Finding ‘Ohana – The 1980s had The Goonies, the 2020s has Finding ‘Ohana on Netflix. This movie was a perfect family night pick. If you didn’t know, ohana is the Hawaiian word for family. I love that it means family as in given and chosen. The movie not only taught us a few words in Hawaiian but also about geocaching. I think we might try it once the weather warms up. The story was about family and adventure. They mastered it completely with a beautiful background.

Soul – We watched this as a Christmas movie on Disney Plus and still are not tired of it. Soul is now being released on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™, DVD, and Digital on March 23, 2021, We are sure that you have watched it a thousand times already too. I picked it for February’s watch list because it is a movie about learning to love yourself and your life. It is a movie for all ages. JustaBXgirl has even watched it with her class.

Flora & Ulysses – Did you read the book yet? We decided to wait until after watching the film. OMGosh. This film was hilarious. JustaBXgirl gave it 100 out of 10. We laughed out loud numerous times and truly fell in love with Ulysses. But nope, no pet squirrels over here…unless they write poetry and can fly me places. This is a great reminder that magic and superheroes are real. We just have to open our eyes to see them. Please add this to your watch list. It starts streaming on Disney Plus on February 19th.

Mighty Express – JustaBXgirl has outgrown the preschool shows but every once in a while she will sit back and watch with mama. Mighty Express from Spin Master is one that she will watch because she enjoys the colors, the friends, and the theme song. Since they had a Valentine’s special I just had to include them on this list. Head over to Netflix to see how cool these trains and kids are.

Dino Ranch – We have a friend that LOVES dinosaurs. Anytime we see a dino anywhere JustaBXgirl says that our friend will want/like it. When it comes to Dino Ranch, she isn’t wrong. Our friend is at the aging out of preschool shows too but the dinos in this show will keep her interest for a while longer. It is a Disney Junior show that should be on all Dinosaur lovers lists.

Secret Millionaires Club – I had never hear of Kartoon Channel but was sent it to check out a different show. After realizing that it had so many titles to offer, we chose this to make our February watch list. It is a cool cartoon about a group of 8th graders that form a club to help raise money for different causes. Oh, and they just so happen to have Warren Buffet as a mentor. With lines like, “See your future. Be your future,” I will be watching and taking notes.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella – Sharing this with JustaBXgirl was super special. Her first reaction was, “Cinderella has braids!” I don’t think in 1997 I realized how groundbreaking this movie truly is. The talent. The diversity. The music. If you haven’t seen it or rewatched it since 1997, please go watch. It is now available on Disney Plus.
