Toy School – Go, Go, Go!

Toy School – Go, Go, Go!

We’ve received a number of these products for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own. This post contains affiliate links.

I know that the way the economy is set up the last thing most of us want to do is to spend money on toys. We are willing to spend money on education though. We recently got to check out so many awesome toys when we went to Sweet Suite. I had to bring you a way to merge the toys and the education. Honestly, that’s what I wanted to be doing ever since I started this series. We know that learning happens through play but sometimes it is hard for us to reconcile that our littles are really learning while they are on the floor with toys.

Here are a three new toys that can be tons of fun, while also having lots of educational value and I bet you wouldn’t have thought to use them for learning at first glance!

Disney Princess Cinderella Carriage RC – We all love a good remote control car but I’m betting that you didn’t think it was a learning toy. It’s designed for 3 years and up. And there are so many lessons to be given with remote controlled cars. It is a great way to practice directions. You can use it as a beginning to learn about different modes of transportation. You can compare different remote control vehicles and discuss speed. This one is a fun way to do some ELA. If your little is a fan of Cinderella, you can read the story you know together, then read other versions of the story. We’ve learned that many cultures have their own versions of Cinderella and it is really cool to learn about. After you’ve read a few versions, have your little create their own version of the story using the remote controlled carriage as a prop!

TCG Toys Hot Wheels Jumbo Mega Playmat with Vehicle – When I was little I had a huge Hot Wheels collection. It was one of my favorite things to play with. I had this little plastic map that was a very sorry version of this. I would play with that plastic mat for HOURS. If I had this when I was a child, I might never have stopped playing with my cars. You can see how cool it is so I don’t need to share that. What I will share is that it is the perfect opportunity to discuss urban planning with your older littles. Don’t worry, there are lessons for the little littles as well. It is another product that helps practice directions. It helps with hand eye coordination. You can direct them to take their vehicle from one location to another using the roads. It is a great introduction to map reading as well.

HAPE SUPER CITYSCAPE TRANSPORT BUCKET TRAIN SET – We don’t have our hands on this yet. I’m hoping to get a hold of it before Christmas so that we can share a full review in a holiday gift guide. We saw it and JustaBXgirl played with it until I told her we had to move on at Sweet Suite. Watching her play I just knew that I would love this. It stores itself which is already a win in my book. This type of toy really has endless play opportunities. It also has endless learning possibilities. Think about using it to study the history of railroads. Research the different types of jobs that help railroads function.
