Getting a membership to the Bronx Zoo is probably one of the best things I ever did as a parent. The Bronx Zoo is our go-to spot on a free day and one of the places where I can take all of the littles in my life and find a way to make them all happy. My favorite time to go to the zoo is the beginning of October. The weather is starting to change yet it’s the perfect time to be outside enjoying the crisp air before it turns cold and I want to hibernate.
It also marks the beginning of Boo At The Zoo which is a completely family-friendly and not the least bit spooky experience. And the background is perfect for photos. I’ve been taking JustaBXgirl since she was a baby. Once upon a time, I was able to choose the costumes she wore but alas, those times are gone. This year she was adamant about being Mal from Descendants. In case you didn’t know, Descendants 2 is on constant replay in our humble abode. Thanks to being an Oriental Trading Ambassador I knew I could find her entire look in one place. And now you know it too! And nope, it is not too late. You still have time to get all of your Halloween necessities. Next week, I will be sharing with you the gift bags I’m making for JustaBXgirl’s class completely from Oriental Express items.
I must say, costumes have come a long way, baby. When I was a kid we wore hard plastic masks and a rayon, highly flammable smock thrown over our clothing. Adults could barely understand when we said trick or treat through the tiny slit that was our masks mouths that seemed to collect dribble and barely allow oxygen through!
Littles today have no idea how cool they have it! I mean I want to wear Mal’s outfit because it’s a Tuesday! This look is fierce. And the netting on the shirt. I guess JustaBXgirl gets it a little because normally we don’t redo costumes during the Halloween season but she has already shared that she will be using this costume again to go trick or treating!
