Autumn Reading List

Autumn Reading List

We received these titles for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own. This post contains affiliate links.

The weather is shifting and it is time to welcome a new season. Autumn is on its way and I wanted to share some great titles. I kept our Autumn reading list short because I know this can be a busy time of year adjusting to new routines and I didn’t want anyone feeling overwhelmed. The changing of seasons often has me reflecting on where I want the next few months to go. I added some book titles this month geared towards the adults to help us become better versions of ourselves so that we can continue being super parents to our littles.

Presidential Elections and Other Cool Facts – You know this is on top of our homeschool books this year. Honestly, this is a very good breakdown of how elections work. It is the type of book that should be on everyone’s reading list before they register to vote. I also love that it includes a glossary and a resource guide.

Raising Securely Attached Kids – I’ve been a fan of Eli Harwood for years. I always feel as if I’m being spoken to not lectured at when viewing her content online. I was super excited to get the opportunity to check out this book. It did not disappoint.

A Parent’s Guide to Self-Regulation – This needs to be on every parent’s reading list. Let’s be real, children learn what they live, and if we don’t know how to self-regulate then how can we expect them to? We are all perfect parents until we have babies. This book doesn’t judge our imperfections. It helps us see where we struggle and gives us strategies to become a better version of the parents we are. These strategies can be used beyond parenting in our other relationships as well.

Where’s Bearry? – This is such a fun read. It is full of emotion and problem-solving. When it is time for bed, and Bearry is nowhere to be found his BFF is up to the challenge of finding him. I love that it shares with littles that the best way to figure things out is to take a moment, breathe, and think. It’s a lesson for them and many adults as well.

You Can Be A Good Friend (No Matter What) – I love Lil TJ. Thank you, Taraji. P. Henson for bringing her to life. This book is a wonderful read for any age but especially for littles who are venturing to school for the first time. It is also a great reminder that hurt people hurt people but everyone can be healed. I also love that it talks of inter-generational bonds. Lil TJ has an amazing relationship with her grandmother. She feels safe and comfortable sharing all that is going on in her world. Please remember how important this is for littles. If a child feels safe they will tell you the good, the bad, and everything in between. When they can share their everything it helps us to help them navigate through their difficult steps. Lil TJ’s grandma was able to help her do just that, and not only find herself again but help someone else become a friend. I look forward to more adventures with Lil TJ.

Pencil & Eraser We Have a Dull-Emma! – This duo could have a million adventures and I would want to read them all! They are the perfect balance of personality. And the author gives us a joke break between each chapter. If you have a graphic novel reader in your home, make sure to check this out. I love that it has a how to draw section at the end so that we can learn how to draw both Pencil and Eraser.

Original Squishmallows The Official Baking Book – I considered saving this book to be part of a Holiday Gift Guide. This book contains fifty recipes each inspired by a Squishmallow. This is an ideal title to get in the swing of autumn. Spend a cozy afternoon creating a sweet treat like Scrapper’s devil food cake or Zuzana’s triple choc chip cookies.
