What’s Your Organizational Style? Giveaway
It’s that time of year. The weather is warming up (supposedly) and we’re ready to stop hibernating. Time to throw open the curtains and let the sun in. And to let the mess out. If you’re anything like me come March/April you are ready to purge your home and start from scratch? At least until you realize how much stuff you just can’t let go of for sentimental reasons. Just me? Didn’t think so.
I know I can’t be the only one that reads just about every “how to be organized” book, post, article I run across. I can admit when Organize Your Way: Simple Strategies For Every Personality first found it’s way into my inbox I thought, “another book that’s going to tell me everything I’m doing wrong.” I didn’t pass up on it though because I was intrigued by the Pixie Personality Test mentioned. Come on, I know I’m not the only one that’s hooked on Buzzfeed and magazine personality tests. Bet you know which Sex & The City character or Disney Princess you are! I was intrigued to find out more. And to discover the correlation between my personality and how I am supposed to organize.

I received this product for review purposes. As always all opinions are honest and solely mine. This post contains affiliate links.
I can tell you that the PixiesDidIt! These women wrote a book that can actually help you get organized and not just make you feel bad about not being able to get passed the first hurdles. They break things down into what will be many an aha moment for you. I know I had a few. Even when I wasn’t sure if I was truly a “Classic Freedom” I had to admit some (most) of the description fit like a glove. Even still I was a bit hesitant to wear the label without checking out the others first. Once I got to the first room Katie and Kellie suggest we tackle (the entryway) I realized that yup, the quiz results were me.
I do however (as do they) suggest reading through the entire book. You never know when something from one of the other personality types will fit for you and you might miss something that will work if you skip over. I also had to pat myself on the back a few times for instinctively doing some of what was suggested for my personality type. I also had to silently reprimand myself for going against what I knew worked because I fell for the misconception that things are sometimes supposed to be a certain way.
I’ll be the first to admit that some of the advice is hard to take. Katie and Kelly challenge us to purge all but five of our tote bags. Do you know how many tote bags I have??? I’m working on it though. This week alone I’ve thrown out three! There are a lot of really good suggestions in the book such as never use your dining room or kitchen table for anything other than their intended purposes. I’m aware. It’s hard for me too. I always blame it on not having much space but the truth is it is just easy to use my kitchen table for everything. This book has helped me become aware of the areas I really need to work on. It has also helped me to feel less guilty about my piles. You might have seen my piles in a photo of my desk on social media. Apparently, piles aren’t that strange. The book has also helped me to realized it’s not my fault that I want JustaBXgirl’s toys separated insto specific categories or her clothes put in the drawers by colors. These things don’t make me odd, they are just part of my organizational personality.
Now that you’re intrigued you can enter to win your own copy of the book. If you don’t want to wait until the giveaway is over you can purchase the book here. For the rest of you enter the giveaway below.

My wife and I do but it doesn’t last long. Having two dogs makes it tough.

My kitchen very much needs cleaning to keep meal prep easier . Also, I will try to keep the pantry and fridge wiped and clean to minimize food spoilage with bins, racks, trays and cabinets.

I can definitely clean my Home Office,
the messy desk; I need to develop a system to keep track of important documents such as bills, leases, and insurance contracts.
