We had so much fun at Play Fair last weekend we have already started a countdown for next year’s event (happening November 3 – 4, 2018). If you follow us on social media then you’ve already seen some of the fun. I’m here to share JustaBXgirl’s favorite experiences and remind you that you should put this on your calendar now because your littles will love you to the moon and back if they get to go.
We go to a lot of events. This is definitely one of our favorites and it improved drastically from last year (which we completely loved as well). The space Play Fair used at the the Jacob Javits Center was larger than year one. The layout of the event allowed there to be a multitude of people in the space without ever causing us to feel crowded. The event is broken down into four sessions. While you can definitely see and do a lot in one session I recommend if you have the ability to attend at least two sessions.
JustaBXgirl and I attended a media preview and two sessions. There were still things we missed and areas we would have liked to revisit! Don’t get dissuaded though if you can only attend one session. You will have as much fun as your littles and will definitely not be disappointed. I think the most important part is to remember that you’re there to have fun. If you go worrying about what you will miss you might just miss the moments.
Speaking of moments here are the ones that stood out the most for JustaBXgirl:
Unboxing Video – The Toy Insider allowed my little vlogger to feel like a true professional as she unboxed Happy Places Mousy’s Art Class from Moose Toys. It was a really good experience for her and for me. She did one at the first Play Fair as well and it was really cool to see how much she’s grown and learned in the past year. I think this is also a lot of fun for littles that don’t have their own YouTube channels as for a few minutes they get to step into the shoes of those they watch regularly.
Making Slime – Maddie Rae broke the record for slime making with the help of littles at Play Fair. They made over 13,000 pounds of purple, glittery slime. We were able to make our own at the press preview and it was definitely slimy. JustaBXgirl had so much fun getting gooey. And she was able to bring home her own limited edition 32 ounces of slime from the record-breaking session.
Kinetic Sand – Have you ever played with Kinetic Sand? This has to be one of JustaBXgirl’s most favorite things in the world. She would have stayed at the Spin Master booth the whole event if I didn’t keep reminding her that there was more to see. And for the first time ever she got to try out the Magic Molding Tower. Yup, mentally added that to her Christmas list.
Crafty Carol & Rock Pets – JustaBXgirl loves Cool School on YouTube so you can only imagine the joy she had over getting to meet Crafty Carol. And she got to participate in Crafty Carol’s Alex Toys crafting sessions. So much fun!!!
Jessicake – Shopkins is a favorite brand in our home. JustaBXgirl loves the cuteness and variety of their toys and I love how they treat their customers and the world! JustaBXgirl spent a lot of time running around the Moose booth and just as much time taking photos with one of her favorite Shoppies, Jessicake.
LEGO – A pile of LEGOS in the middle of the floor sounds like it should be a parents nightmare but instead it was actually tons of fun. There were littles literally swimming in the LEGOS while others dug for treasure and still, even more, making LEGO angels. Once they got some of the energy out of them they could create their own LEGO board to be on display. JustaBXgirl was very proud of her creation.
You can catch some of the fun in JustaBXgirl’s video below (and don’t forget to subscribe to her channel). Do you see the joy on my baby’s face?
