October Toy School – Something for Everyone

October Toy School – Something for Everyone

We’ve received a number of these products for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own.

Trick or treat! Yup, we are officially in spooky season. This season leads right into holiday shopping season so please take note as I share both Toy School products and Gift Guides. I don’t plan on listing products in both so if you see something here and not in a traditional guide, don’t think it isn’t cool enough for a holiday gift. It’s just that there are so many cool items, I don’t want to leave any out. I’m a firm believer that every toy has a learning ability if we look at it long enough. Here’s what we are currently checking out.

Crazy Aaron’s Ghostwriters Thinking Putty – JustaBXgirl was so quick to open this that she didn’t read about the invisible ink aspect of this putty. Suffice to say, once she figured it out she was hooked. This is a great way to practice spelling words. Those of us with resistant writers know that we need all of the tricks and this trick is really a treat for everyone involved.

Adventure Games Discover The Story The Grand Hotel Abaddon – So, Da Geeky 1, from Two Geeks and a Dame, and I are obsessed with any type of mystery game. This one is ideal for us, and for family game nights with older littles. This game is designed for 12+. It is great for reading and deduction. Cooperative games are great for that age group as most of their recreational life is about competition. My favorite part about it is that there is enough story content to play multiple times with different endings each time. That’s huge because many mystery games only have one possible ending so there isn’t much fun playing again.

Stick-O Forest Friends Set – Little ones are never left out for long. STICK-O from Magformers is a great way to work on tactile play with littles. This forest friend set is a great addition to storytime and zoo trips.

Scarykins – This little buddy is the perfect size to fit into a littles hands for some spooky storytelling time. They’re also great reading buddies. Just be aware, they can be party animals. We love Wild Republic plushies. The Scarykins line is fun so the season and includes, Frankenstein, Werewolf, Witch, Vampire. Think of the stories that your littles can come up with.
