January Bookshelf – Three Books to Add to Your Library

We received some of these titles for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own. The post contains affiliate links.

My reading goal for 2022 was 52 books outside of the books that I reviewed. I didn’t make the goal but it felt really good to read for myself and not just for the blog. I read 36 books outside of the ones that I shared with you. I’m aiming to make 52 this year but will be honest, I’m not 100% confident I will make it! Do you set a reading goal for the year? Do you have your littles set reading goals? If so, make sure to add these to their list.

Put Your Shoes on & Get Ready – “I must wear my own shoes – shoes that fit my feet.” I love that not only does this book share Senator Rev. Warnock’s story with children, but it also reminds them that they have to walk in their own path. It is a great message to start the new year with. And it is a great addition to any home library.

Ziggy Marley Music is in Everything – When JustaBXgirl saw the title of the book she said, “Mommy, you say that all of the time.” I’ve been teaching her to listen for the music in everything since she was tiny. It is a way to see the magic in the world. I love how the illustrations bring Ziggy Marley’s words to life. Life is so much better when you dance through it to the music in everything.

Eala The Mother Swan – This is a beautiful story with beautiful illustrations. The mother swan does a great job of helping Hugo find his magic. She even lets us in on a secret to find our own magic. I also love that the story is told in English and Spanish. JustaBXgirl is taking Spanish classes and this allows her to practice reading in Spanish in a way that is comforting since the English translation is on top of every page.
