Host Your Own Emoji Party

In case you’ve been living under a rock let me let you in on a not so secret trend.  The emoji.  Yup, I’m sure you have seen it beyond your keyboard at this point.  Everyone has a favorite emoji and everyone has their own translation to what some of the emojis really mean.  Did you hear about the prayer hands really being a high five?! I know, get out.  Either way you can’t avoid the emoji train even if you wanted to and with the fun to be had why would you?

JustaBXgirl and I were recently invited to an emoji themed, mommy and me happy hour being hosted by our friends at Fab Gab Blog.  This stylish mommy and mini duo know how to party.  And since you might not have made it to their party I wanted to share some of the fun for you to throw your own emoji party.  I can’t guarantee it will be as fabulous as the one we attended but I can guarantee it will be filled with smiley faces from your guests.

First, there are the crafts.  Don’t worry you non DIY-ers like me.  This is right up our alleys.  My biggest piece of advice for the crafts is to keep it simple.  Yes, some emojis can be very detailed but if you’re not good at crafting or organizing the event for little littles go with a few basic designs like the cool emoji, the love struck emoji, the winking emoji and the LOL emoji.  Once you have your emojis narrowed down all you need is some construction paper, glue and markers or crayons.  I liked how at the Fab Gab party our emoji crafts were also used as photo props so you might want to consider adding some popsicle sticks like they did so you can use them as props or even puppets!!!

Photo props you ask?  Yup, You can’t have an emoji party without taking some fun photos so once your crafts are complete head over to a selfie corner.  Have fun with decorating it just remember to stick with the theme and think bright.  I loved the bright yellow, crepe paper background at this party.

The fun shouldn’t stop there.  Let the snacks and food get into the emoji mood too.  You can find emoji stickers just about everywhere and if you can’t you can print some of your favorite emojis out using labels or plain paper.  Who wants a plain juice box when you can have a poop juice box???!

And make sure your guests know what they’re in for so they can dress the part.  JustaBXgirl won best emoji themed outfit.  Or maybe it was most emoji themed as she decided to do emoji head to toe for the day!

I think this theme would be perfect for a summer barbecue or birthday party.  You can even come up with some fun games.  How much fun would emoji charades be???

What’s your favorite emoji?  Let me know in the comments.  Mine is the princess one (who I happened to be channeling at the event while wearing one of JustaBXgirl’s crowns).
