Travel Tip: Travel Brix

We received this product for review purposes. As always opinions are honest and solely those of mine and JustaBXgirl.

I’ve seen a lot of people online lately asking for different tips for traveling with littles.  As you know I’ve written about some of my favorite tips before but I wanted to share with you one of the things that helped us get through our recent trip to California.  While JustaBXgirl has been traveling since she was an itty bitty getting on planes and trains to visit different states they have always been trips that are no more than four hours of travel time (sometimes less).  The idea of getting on a plane for over FIVE hours had this mama stressed.  I was online looking for tips myself.

One of the ones I’ve spoken about and I found repeated again and again was to bring things to entertain your little.  JustaBXgirl likes to be creative and use her imagination.  Edushape’s Travel Brix was a perfect choice for our trip.  It was easy to pack and was a great surprise for JustaBXgirl when we got on the plane.  I was worried that she might lose pieces but the travel mat is great at securing the pieces.  It wasn’t good just for the plane either.  JustaBXgirl played with it every part of our trip.  She really enjoyed playing with these at the hotels.  It was hard to get her to take a break to get started on her flower girl duties.  She also got a kick out of creating benches for her small toys to sit on.

Now that we’re home I still find JustaBXgirl interested in using her Travel Brix to build.  I’ve recently gotten her to let me leave them in the car so that when she’s out and about with JustaBXgrandpa she can can entertain herself by building in her car seat.  And since they’re so easy to take on the go I can toss them in my bag whenever I think she needs a little more travel entertainment.

The toy is designed for ages 3 and up.  Honestly, if your little is into building they will love this regardless of their age.  There are some small pieces so if they are under three I would make sure there’s adult supervision at all times.  It might also be a little difficult for them to clip affix the pieces.  at 4 JustaBXgirl needed a bit of help at times depending on what piece she tries to connect.  This product is great to help develop fine motor skills and hand eye coordination.

I like the versatility to it.  While we will continue using it mainly for travel, this is the type of toy that is great to leave at a family member’s house for when you visit, it’s great for everyday use and it’s even great to gift a class.  All littles will get many hours of play out of it and each time will feel different as they can always make something new.
