Movie Review: HIDDEN ORCHARD MYSTERIES: The Case of the Air B & B Robbery

We received a screener link for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own.

We used to have a movie night a few times a month if that. Suffice to say that times have changed. I have lost track of how many hours JustaBXgirl sits in front of a screen and I’m sheepish to admit that every week I’ve been notified that my screen time is on the rise according to my iPhone. As much as we spend time on separate screens, I do my best to get us together at least once a week to watch something together.

This week we got the chance to check out HIDDEN ORCHARD MYSTERIES: The Case of the Air B&B Robbery. The movie will be premiering in a few weeks on June 6th but we couldn’t wait to share it with you. As I type my thoughts on the film, JustaBXgirl is sitting next to me on her laptop writing her own review for Soco Stylez!

You might know this already if you’ve been here for a while but JustaBXgirl LOVES mysteries. When this title popped up in my inbox I knew we had to check it out. Think of a modern-day Nancy Drew duo and you have Lulu and Gabby.

Lulu and Gabby are best friends with different skill sets. Lulu can read people really well and Gabby has a photographic memory. When these two team up to solve a local robbery they take the case seriously. They check out all possible suspects and learn more about their community and themselves.

Towards the beginning of the movie, Lulu’s mom says, “life is what you make it and adventure is where you find it.” That line is a wonderful way to think about what comes next. I have taught JustaBXgirl since she was small that only boring people get bored so you will almost never hear her say that she is bored. She will usually instead say that she doesn’t know what to do which allows us to brainstorm her options. The girls took this message to heart and found their own adventure in their quiet community.

The different relationship dynamics in the movie piqued my interest. There were some dynamics that I would have wanted to learn more about. I think that this movie is great for littles that love mysteries and most tweens will enjoy seeing it. I hope that Lulu and Gabby will have more mysteries to solve in the future.
