Summer Watchlist – What to Watch

Summer Watchlist – What to Watch

We received some of these titles for review purposes. As always, all opinions are honest and my own. This post contains affiliate links.

The pumpkin spiced everything might have you fooled but summer is not over yet! We didn’t do too many movie nights this summer. I’m not really sure where the time went but by Friday evening this mama was tired and couldn’t stay awake for family movie night. Still, we made a list and have been checking it off. Here are the titles that we are working to catch up on. Did I leave anything off the list that we can not miss?

DC League of Super-Pets – From the first moment she saw the trailer to this JustaBXgirl wanted to see it. From the moment I heard that the dynamic duo of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Heart were starring I knew I didn’t want to miss this. Sadly, I completely missed an email inviting us to a screening! Gasp. Don’t tell JustaBXgirl. We were blessed to be given movie passes to catch it at a later showing and it was so funny. I mean, how could it not be?! Oh, and it is now out to own on Digital. Those of you like me that like DVDs have a little longer to wait. It will be out for us in October.

Bugs Bunny Builders – This is a great way to introduce a new generation to Bugs Bunny and friends. Big surprise, things don’t always go according to plan when the team gets to building. They always seem to figure it out after a few funny trials and errors.

Ms. Marvel – Let me tell you a secret. I wasn’t sure if JustaBXgirl was going to watch this with me because she usually leaves me to watch Marvel shows by myself. We watched the first few episodes of this together and then mama got busy. Do you think my little miss waited for me to finish it up? Nope, and then she had the nerve to tell me she would watch it again if it made me feel better! Yup, I’m salty but I also am happy that she found a Marvel show that she could relate to and enjoy.

Minions: The Rise of Gru – This is how you do a prequel! I remember the excitement buzzing when this came out and I was sad we couldn’t get the timing right to see it in the theaters. That is okay because the wait is over, Illumination’s MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU, is now available to own with over 60 minutes of despicably entertaining bonus features on Digital. And it will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD September 6, 2022, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. This has everything you love in the series and has turned it up even more. I’m kind of happy I watched it at home so I didn’t get looks for being the loud adult cackling in the theater.

The Sea Beast – The animation on this alone made me want to watch. The colors are so vibrant. And the story has a beautiful, strong, female lead so you know that JustaBXgirl has her popcorn ready. We can’t wait to see what happens when Maisie stows away on the legendary monster hunter, Jacob Hollland’s ship.

Karma’s World – Of course, JustaBXgirl watched the new season without me! This is such a great show with the best music. I love how the show tackles real-life kid issues in a way that remains entertaining and offers solutions and different perspectives. Oh, and new episodes are being released in a few weeks!

Gabby’s Dollhouse – Another show that JustaBxgirl didn’t wait for me to watch.

Alma’s Way – I’m not sure if you know this but Alma’s Way is one of my most favorite shows ever. And they just released a few new episodes so go catch up. Take it from a Bronx girl this show is truly representing.

Echoes – Adults, have you binge-watched this yet? I am really hoping we get another season. I love suspense and twists in a show and this one gives you them. I also love how complex the characters are. Just when you think you know who you’re rooting for you get a new perspective!

She-Hulk – I’m trying to wait for all of the season to be out so I can eat my way through this series. If you want to discuss all things She-Hulk after the last episode is released, hit me up! We can catch up and binge together. For now, I’ll be here with my fingers in my ears screaming lalalalala so I can’t hear anyone talking about it.

The Bob’s Burger Movie – JustaBXgirl’s godmommy loves Bob’s Burgers. She is the reason that I wanted to see it. 20th Century Studios’ murder-mystery adventure, The Bob’s Burgers Movie, is available on digital, Blu-ray, and DVD so now I get to see what the hype is about. There are so many bonus features included that this is a definite gift idea for the holidays for any Bob’s Burger fans.
