When my little brother was a toddler he LOVED watching Teletubbies. Po was his favorite and now Po is JustaBXgirl’s favorite a good 20 years later!!! It’s funny how no matter how things might change some things stay the same. The Teletubbies recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary in NYC and we got to celebrate with them.
I have to admit I haven’t paid much attention to the lives of Laa Laa, Tinky-Winky, Dipsy or Po in the time that my brother stopped watching them and JustaBXgirl discovered them but they have been quite busy. In 2007, they received the keys to NYC so of course they chose our great city to celebrate the big 2-0. JustaBXgirl was quite excited to celebrate 20 Years of Hugs with, well hugs! Almost as soon as we entered the festivities she got to hug and take photos with the stars of the show!
And then there was much more fun to be had. We’re talking bubbles, tattoos, face paint, coloring station, iPad games and sneak peeks at upcoming episodes. Oh and we can’t forget cake and other yummy treats. Really happy that we can watch Teletubbies on Nick Jr for new episodes because after getting the sneak peek JustaBXgirl wants more.
I hadn’t realized that JustaBXgirl knew the Teletubbies until I told her that we would be attending the event and she got really happy and told me she watches them on her ipad (nick jr. app). There goes my award from knowing what my child does on her iPad. I had never noticed her watching them before but she knew all of their names and was stoked to go to the party. We even got a chance to put on Teletubbies headbands and snap a quick photo for the photo booth.
The day of the event it poured outside. You could never have told by the laughter and joy that was happening at the party. Everyone was beaming like the baby sun in every episode. Do your littles watch the show? Did you watch it as a child? I was in high school when the original aired so I definitely used my little brother as my excuse to watch episodes.
