Get Snatched With Goldie Hawn & Amy Schumer

I’m spoiled.  I love going to movie screenings and getting to see movies before they come out.  It’s definitely one of my favorite blogger perks.  Last week thanks to the lovely ladies at The Moms I was able to not only attend an advance screening of Snatched but ALSO meet Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer!!!!! (And take home some yummy Orville Redenbacher popcorn)

Yup, I don’t think you understand how big of a Goldie Hawn fan I am.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve seen Overboard, Private Benjamin or Troop Beverly Hills.  And yes, now that I’ve typed that I realize I just probably aged myself severely in your mind.  I don’t care.  I love me some Goldie and her movies.  And I’m sure you know that Amy Schumer is a laugh too.

If you have read my movie reviews in the past you already know I do not divulge major plots or scenes because I want you to form your own opinion.  What I will say is watch this with your mother or adult daughter.  Amy said she wanted to create this movie as a love letter to her mother and I completely get it.  It might sound strange if you’ve seen the trailers but this movie goes so far beyond the jokes that will have you crying.

As daughters we see life and our relationship with our mother’s through a very focused lens.  Our view rarely if ever is the same as our mothers.  This movie is great with that.  It does a great job of teaching us a lesson while making us laugh.  There is not one person in the amazing cast that didn’t deliver.  I mean Joan Cusack completely stole the show and she didn’t even say one thing the whole movie!!!!

I really think my favorite thing about this movie is that while it is a true comedy both physical and mental there is so much more going on in it.  There’s the mother/daughter relationship.  There’s Amy’s own growth and self discovery.  There’s Goldie’s growth which is a great reminder that even when we are mother’s we are still growing ourselves.

Snatched is in theaters this Friday, May 12th.  I expect to see a lot of mother-daughter duos catching it for a Mother’s Day date.
