October JustAPlayDate Was #JustAMonsterBoogie

Monster Boogie, #JustAmonsterboogie, candy bar, costume party, halloween fun
We value all of the brands that send us products for our Kid Influencer events. As always all opinions are honest and my own.

It seems like every Halloween there is just so much to do. NYC is a great place to live during this time of year. The thing is a lot of the events get really crowded. I mean, really crowded. With the crowds, we sometimes miss seeing and spending time with our friends. We like spending time with our friends. To make sure that we could enjoy some Halloween fun together our October playdate became #JustAMonsterBoogie.

Oh, and just when you thought Hello Princess NYC was a place only to make little girl’s dreams come true the owner invited us to check out one of her other rooms. We transformed the room into a monster haven with arts & crafts stations, a Slimy Gloop Mix’Ems table and a candy bar! We also had entertainment and gift bags! Then after we made sure that all of our little monsters went home on a sugar high by making sure they emptied the candy bar.

Now you know this mama is not a DIY type of woman. However, JustaBXgirl just loves DIY projects. She decided that she wanted to be a mummy and that mommy should make her costume.  Let’s just say it was a team effort. JustaBXgrandpa cut up two white pillowcases and this mama wrapped her little monster in the pillowcase strips and white streamers. She looked adorable but she kept unraveling so not sure if we can call the costume a true win. The party though? Yea, #JustAMonsterBoogie was a serious success. Karina and I had so much fun shopping for decorations and our sponsors came through big time to make sure that there was fun for everyone.

Pressman Toy supplied raffle prizes to remind us that games aren’t just for littles. Our lucky winners went home with Your Worst Nightmare. Your Worst Nightmare is for ages twelve and over. It is a great way to get conversations started. You might be surprised at what you learn about your family and friends while playing. This game also gives way for discussion that can begin helping us overcome those fears.

I’m sure you saw on IG that a few of us got to attend The Laurie Berkner Band’s Monster Boogie Concert. We really wished that we could have taken all of our friends but since we couldn’t, The Laurie Berkner Band sent the concert to #JustAMonsterBoogie. Every attendee went home with The Best of The Laurie Berkner Band CD. The CD included seventeen of the band’s most loved songs, including Pig On Her Head. Since the CD included Pig On Her Head, The Laurie Berkner Band also sent our guest small plushies so that they can all have an animal to put on their head during the song! That’s not all! One of our little monsters got to go home with a copy of Monster Boogie. Remember when I featured it on one of my bookshelves a few months ago?

A party favorite was definitely the Spooky Slimy Gloop Mix’Ems table. That wasn’t too surprising seeing how everyone loves Slimy Gloop. Our little monsters had the chance to mix bats, beads and ghosts into their Slimy Gloop then pack some up to take home. That’s not all that they got to take home from Horizon Group either. Each little monster went home with Monster Ooz-o’s to create at home. I love that the Slimy Gloop and Ooz-o’s come in a number of varieties so I’m sure you will be seeing them at future events as well.

Just when it seems like we couldn’t have any more fun we had a special guest reader from Connection To Creativity stop by with a favorite Halloween season story and some fun games to play. Overall it was such a fun day. If you want to see more of it then check out the hashtag #JustAMonsterBoogie.
