Walking In A Bergen County Winter Wonderland

Walking In A Bergen County Winter Wonderland

Just like the famous song goes “When it snows, ain’t it thrilling?  Though your nose gets a chilling.  We’ll frolic and play, the Eskimo way, walking in a winter wonderland.”  Who has never wanted to experience that?  I know I sure have.  So you can imagine how excited I was to find out that Bergen County had their own Winter Wonderland at Van Saun County Park in Paramus, NJ! Of course, I was going and who better to critique it with me than my nieces and nephew.

From the moment we arrived, we were immediately captivated by the walkway lined with Christmas trees decorated by each town in New Jersey and the musical sounds that swept us into the holidays.  Once we got inside, I couldn’t believe how much there was to do.  Considering some of the kids had never skated before, we started off at the synthetic beginner kid’s rink… complete with little penguin skate aids to help them practice.  Once they were a bit more comfortable we headed for the more astounding large rink and boy did they have a blast.

Once they had enough of that, we grabbed one of the outdoor fire pits and roasted s’mores (yes people they sold s’mores kits!!) and had some freshly popped popcorn.  Then we headed into the tent where us parents enjoyed our own spirits at the indoor wine and beer garden while the children got their faces painted, played carnival styles games and checked out the balloon artists

By the time we looked at our watches FIVE whole hours had passed and we only had enough time to grab a carousel ride (which turned into 3) and head home.  I asked them what they thought about their day and they responded with screams of “Amazing!!!” and “You are the bestest aunt everrrr!”.  I didn’t even have the heart to tell them that we never made it to Santa’s North Pole Dome to visit Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  Nor did we make it to the Zoo or on the Bergen Express Train Ride. Whelp… I guess that means that we will just have to go back next week!So guys, here is the skinny below…They are here from now through February 24th2019 but for more detailed information and hours click on the link here Bergen County Winter Wonderland  And when you get there make sure to tell Mr. Claus that I sent you!
