2019 New Jersey Outdoor Movie Fun!

  • One of my favorite things about summertime is being outdoors.  I also adore movies.  So when you have the opportunity to do both it’s lights…camera… action!  Throw in “FREE” and there is no way you can lose! So grab the kids, pack some snacks and make your way to one of these places for free movies under the stars.

    Below you can find my comprehensive guide to free summer movie screenings arranged by county. Click on the event names for more details, including movie titles. And keep checking back, because I will continue to post more listings as they are announced, throughout the 2019 summer movie season. ** Please note that most movies listed here are family friendly and great for the kids but not all. So make sure to double check before you head out.**

    Bergen County

    Fort Lee

    Fort Lee Community Center Ampitheater (1355 Inwood Terrace)

    Movies & Music Under the Stars, the 10-week free summer film and music program, runs Saturday, June 29 – August 31. Each evening, live music is performed from 7-8:30 pm on the Community Center stage with films continuing at sunset. Seating is limited so please bring a lawn chair or blanket. (In the event of rain, the program moves to the second floor of the Community Center.)

    These nights promise to be fun with KinderCare handing out free water and popcorn for the kids. So, come over with all your family and friends to join us for free family movie nights. The movie will begin at dusk (approx. 8:30 pm) so arrive early for a good spot.

    Hackensack

    Hackensack Movies Under the Stars – Atlantic Street Park (102 State Street, Hackensack, NJ)

    Movies start at 8 pm and don’t forget to bring your own lawn chair.

    Ridgewood

    Ridgewood Guild Movies in the Park – Memorial Park, Ridgewood NJ

    Grab a blanket and some snacks and head to Memorial Park for outdoor fun and entertainment. Movies start at 9 pm in June and July, and 8:00 pm in August.

    • June 26-30th – The Wizard of Oz (80th Anniversary) Trivia and costume contest, prizes. Complimentary ice cream from ben and Jerrys Starts at 7pm

    Movies begin at 9:00 pm in June and July and around at 8:00 pm in August, unless otherwise noted below. For the best seating, come early and bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chair. You may bring a picnic, but alcohol consumption is not permitted and subject to a fine. If rain, the movie may need to be canceled. Check the website for updates.

    Grab a beach chair and head to the beach starting Saturday, July 13, for free movie night presented by the Belmar Tourism Commission. Movies start at dusk, but it’s best to get there earlier to get a good spot in front of the big screen on the sand.

    Summit

    Village Green’s Screen on the Green, Family Dance Parties before each movie begins. Summit Soundz will rock the crowd and get everyone movin’ and groovin’ and bouncin’ to some family-friendly music. Don’t forget to look out for special guest characters. Dance parties begin at 8 pm and movies begin at 9 pm or after dark.

The screen is located by the Browning and Collings intersection, near the gazebo. This event is BYOC – Bring your own chair. In the event of rain, movies will be cancelled.
