Falling For Some Autumn Fun

Falling For Some Autumn Fun

So many people think that with the end of summer comes the end of fun.  Not I my good friends… I say the fun is just beginning.  Nothing I love better than the crisp air of Autumn, the turning of the leaves, pumpkins, harvest festivals and so much more.  If you are not a friend of the fall, and you are ready to take it indoors then maybe some of these activities will turn you:

Nickelodeon Universe– Secaucus, NJ

Some fo us have literally been waiting YEARSSS for something to be done with that eyesore sitting in the middle of Secaucus.  Finally they did.  After a very long wait, the American Dream Mall is finally open.  Well at least a part of it.  We are soooo excited about the Nickelodeon Universe being here! The park features over 35 rides, rollercoasters and attractions for families and thrill-seekers, both young and young at heart. SpongeBob, Dora The Explorer, and all your Nickelodeon BFFs are waiting to welcome you. Enjoy miles of smiles, jaw-dropping moments, gallons of slime and live entertainment on the Nickelodeon Slime Stage.

PAW PATROL LIVENJPAC ( Newark, NJ) Nov 30-Dec 1

I cannot tell you how happy I am that my son has finally graduated from those nursery rhyme cartoons.  Paw Patrol is on of his faveeees right now and I am glad because I love them too.  So it is going to be a real treat taking him to see Ryder and the brave rescue dogs of Nick Jr.’s hit animated series PAW Patrol on their new, action-packed live tour!

It’s Pirate Day in Adventure Bay – and Ryder will need all paws on deck as he and the PAW Patrol discover a secret treasure map while on a mission to rescue Cap’n Turbot from a mysterious cavern. Now it’s up to Chase, Marshall, Skye and all their heroic pirate pup friends to save the day and find the pirate treasure – before Mayor Humdinger finds it first!

Tickets are on sale now starting at $23 and can be purchased at njpac.org or by phone at 888-GO-NJPAC

ANGRY BIRDS UNIVERSE – LIBERTY SCIENCE CENTER (Jersey City, NJ) Now – April 19, 2020

My favorite type of play is the kind were kids are learning and don’t even know it.  LSC is always a great way to achieve that and their newest premium exhibition, Angry Birds Universe: The Art and Science Behind a Global Phenomenon, is now open!

Based on the popular games, the exhibition takes guests of all ages into the world of Angry Birds for interactive adventures, both physically challenging and mentally stimulating. Explore different concepts in science, tech, engineering, arts, and math in an extreme hands-on environment!

MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE – (77th & Central Park West south to Herald Square) Nov 23

I know that I usually cover the NJ stuff but the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is so big that every kid who lives in the tri-state area should experience it at least once.  The year is their 93rd year and promises to be bigger and better than ever.  With over 3.5 million parade route spectators and over 50 million television viewers, it is sure to not disappoint.

Make sure you and your littles get there early… Starting from 77th & Central Park West south to 34th Street-Herald Square with over 8,000 participants.  There are 1,000 clowns, 56 balloons, 26 floats (including new ones from Blue’s Clues & You! by Nickelodeon and The Brick-Changer by The LEGO Group).  Don’t forget a special appearance by the Radio City Rockettes and Santa to mark the beginning of the Holiday season.

THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL – State Theater NJ (New Brunswick, NJ) Nov 29-Dec 1

My mom took my nephew to see this and I was a bit skeptical.  How can you recreate a sponge that lives in pineapple under the sea?  When my nephew came home, it was all that he could talk about for 2 weeks straight.  So if you missed your chance to see this limited time engagement on Broadway, now is your second chance to catch Nickelodeon bring Spongebob and Friends to life at the State Theater NJ.   (Recommended 5 and up)

PJ MASKS LIVE! – Bergen  PAC (Englewood, NJ) Nov 29

This hit live musical production from Entertainment One and Round Room, is back with an all-new show: “PJ Masks Live: Save The Day!” Based on eOne’s top-rated animated series, airing daily on Disney Junior, the new show features preschoolers’ favorite pre-school superheroes and familiar songs from the show along with new music and a whole new adventure. Catboy, Owlette and Gekko will delight fans of all ages with live performances featuring world-class production, toe-tapping tunes and a whole lot of super fun as they go into the night to save the day from the Villains along with PJ Robot, who is new to the live show!
