Family Game Night – Time to Get Played

We have well over 100 board/card games in our home. We love to play games. It is a great way to spend time together and turn moments into memories. As JustaBXgirl gets older and our schedules get more, and more hectic, I value our family game night time more than ever. I know there will come a time when she would rather play games with her friends than with me. That’s part of life. Until then, I will continue looking for multigenerational games that everyone can enjoy at home.

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza – This game is so simple. All you have to do is repeat Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza as you put down a card. Simple and silly enough that littles can play. Don’t sleep though, it is not so simple that you will easily be the champ. Will you get tripped up by a narwhal? Maybe the gorilla will throw off your game face. It is easy to pack and take on the go. It was part of our beach supplies this summer.

Ravenous Raptors – This isn’t out yet but trust me, you need to find it as soon as it hits store shelves. I had to drag JustaBXgirl away from the booth when she was playing it at Sweet Suite. We were blessed to be able to bring one home. I don’t think she has let anyone come into the house without playing this with her. She has even taught HOPS how to play!

Boop – Okay, so when I was first learning about this game, I wasn’t too sure. It sounded a little complicated but it was so cute that I had to try it out. I am happy that I did because Boop is fun. It also allows littles to problem-solve and strategize. The strategy side makes it ideal for older littles and even bigs.

Here Kitty Kitty – Can you tell we like cats? This is a great game to use for gameschooling. It is tons of fun on its own but I have to share all the sneaky ways that it is an educational game. There’s reading. In order to use your cards you have to know how to read them and comprehend the directions they give. There’s math. At the end of the game, you have to add up your score to see who the winner is. Will you use addition or multiplication? And there’s the discussion, where did the stray cats come from? How as a community can we help them?

Cats vs Pickles Mayhem – This game is so much fun and super silly. I promise, no cats or pickles were injured while playing. I might have knocked JustaBXgirl down a few times though LOL. I’m kidding. Seriously though, this has jumped to the top of our favorite games. Be prepared for lots of laughs and movement BUT know this isn’t a sit still and go around the board type of game.
