Ten years ago while vacationing in San Francisco, I stumbled upon Lefty’s the Left Hand Store. Not only did it make my stationery loving heart happy but I was thrilled that there was a store just for me! Well, not just me but when you’re a lefty it can feel lonely in a right-handed world. While checking out with all the things I purchased, the clerk asked me if I knew that there was a thing called “National Lefty Day,” I didn’t but I’ve been celebrating ever since. I usually treat myself to something lefty related, and now that I’m married I’ve actually tricked, I mean encouraged, my husband to get me a lefty gift every year.
This year I found my lefty gift while in Portland visiting with my twin sister, who is also a lefty. We were in Powell’s Bookstore, which is an amazing place to spend a few hours and get lost in all the books, I found Denik Notebooks. They are flat laying journals that actually stay open.
